Many secondary schools now have an exams officer: a non-teaching member of staff who submits exam entries, organises timetables, oversees the exams themselves and processes results.

• one-to-one support, from a team of 40 field officers whose role is to share effective practice with exams officers good practice, including guidance on many aspects of the job together with case studies,
