The Advice and Inspection Service offer many training courses to aid the continuing professional development of qualified teachers and teaching assistants.

Earth Science Education Unit at Keele University

From January 2009, the Unit will be able to offer, no fee, 90-minute KS2 Earth Science INSET to groups of primary teachers and trainee primary teachers across the England and Wales (facilitator travel expenses are the only costs incurred.

CLPE Professional Development for Teachers

This year, there are three PPD programmes for Teachers, part-funded by the TDA:

1. Developing the Role of the English Subject Leader.
2. Raising Achievement and Enjoyment of Literacy (supporting the Revised Primary Literacy Strategy).
3. Effective Learning in the Early Years.
