Here at London Borough of Sutton, we are committed to ensuring that all Teaching Assistants are fully trained and have the opportunity to develop their careers.

To this end, we regularly run the TDA Induction training course and promote NVQ Level 2 and 3 courses which are held at SCOLA, Carshalton College and Merton College. All information about these courses is sent to schools at the end of the Summer Term in preparation for applications to be made. In this way we enable all Teaching Assistants to have the opportunity to make themselves eligible to access the HLTA training route.

In addition to the above, there are several courses which are run by AIS staff which have been tailored specifically for Teaching Assistants. For further information about the courses that AIS have scheduled to take place during the academic year 2009/10, please click here.

Application Procedure
To apply for any course, please print off the relevant Course Details Sheet. You can do this from the list of courses or from the course details page. To view a printable application form, simply click on the printer icon next to the course title. This form can be printed in the usual way by clicking on the print button on your toolbar. Complete the application form at the bottom and return the whole sheet to:

or alternatively fax it to 020 8770 6747 as soon as possible.

A letter of confirmation will be sent to each person registered to attend a course approximately two to three weeks prior to the course date.

Cancellation Charges
Please note that cancellations advised to us less than one month prior to the date of the course will result in the school incurring the full charge.
