An Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) is an excellent teacher who achieves the very highest standards of classroom practice and who is willing to share his or her skills and experience with other teachers. Leading Mathematics Teachers

The opportunity to observe a Leading Mathematics Teacher is open to all teachers. Visits can be arranged for any teacher to see a Leading Mathematics Teacher demonstrating a mathematics lesson.

For example:

• Modelling how to put across a mathematical skill or piece of knowledge
  
• Developing questioning skills
  
• How to use a resource to aid interactive whole class teaching
  
• Seeing how planning is put into action promoting differentiation

HandsOn Support Providers

In Sutton, we have a team of 16 practising teachers able to offer hands on support in embedding ICT in teaching and learning.

They offer teachers an opportunity to visit their classrooms to observe a lesson and to discuss planning and use of electronic resources to support English, Maths and other areas of the curriculum.
